Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Aiko app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by ByteRise (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. The Application offers both free features and optional paid subscription plans. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.

By default, all child activity data you track in the Application (such as feedings, sleep, diapers, growth, milestones, health records, teeth, and any other tracked entries) is stored locally on your device only and is not transmitted to or stored on the Service Provider's servers. This data leaves your device only if you choose to enable the optional Family Sharing feature, described below, or as otherwise set out in this privacy policy.

The Application does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process your data or provide features.

The Service Provider may use the information you provided to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices and marketing promotions.

For a better experience, while using the Application, the Service Provider may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that the Service Provider request will be retained by them and used as described in this privacy policy.

Third Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services (analytics and crash-reporting, listed below) to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. This does not apply to Family Sharing, described in its own section below, which by its nature transmits full, non-anonymized activity data - it exists specifically to share your data with a second person you invite. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

Family Sharing

The Application offers an optional premium feature, "Family Sharing", that lets two co-parents synchronize their child's tracked activities (feedings, sleep, diapers, growth, health records, vaccinations, and similar entries) between their devices in real time. This feature is off by default and only activates if you choose to invite a partner or join a partner's invitation, after reviewing and accepting a specific in-app notice about it.

If you enable Family Sharing, the activity data you record in the Application - including your child's name, birth date, and health-related entries - is transmitted to and stored, unencrypted at the application level but protected by Google Cloud Firestore's standard encryption in transit and at rest, on Google Cloud Firestore servers located in the European Union, for as long as your account remains linked to your partner's. This is necessary to keep both devices in sync, and is not aggregated or anonymized in any way, since the feature's purpose is to share your data, as you recorded it, with the person you invite. Access to this data is restricted by technical rules to the two paired accounts. The Service Provider does not routinely access, monitor, or use this synced data; the Service Provider's staff may access it only where necessary to investigate a support request you initiate, to maintain the security or integrity of the service, or as required by law. The Application also uses Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous account for each device using Family Sharing, solely to establish and secure this pairing - no name, email address, or other identifying information is collected as part of this anonymous account itself.

If you stop using Family Sharing ("End sharing"), your device disconnects from your partner's and stops syncing new activities, but data already synced is not automatically deleted from Firestore or from your partner's device - see Data Retention Policy below for how to request its deletion.

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

The Application offers optional premium subscription plans that unlock additional features. Subscriptions are processed through the Google Play Store (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). The Service Provider does not directly collect or store your payment information — all billing is handled by the respective platform.

To manage or cancel your subscription, visit your platform's subscription management page:

Purchase and subscription status data is processed by RevenueCat, Inc. to enable the Service Provider to verify your subscription status and unlock premium features. RevenueCat may collect your device identifier and purchase history for this purpose. Please refer to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for more details.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. This includes data synced via Family Sharing, which is retained on Google Cloud Firestore servers for as long as your account remains linked to your partner's, and is not automatically deleted when you end sharing (see Family Sharing above).

If you'd like the Service Provider to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, including data synced via Family Sharing, please contact them at byterise.software@gmail.com. The Service Provider will delete this data within 30 days of a verified request.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (byterise.software@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-08-09
